If this is your first time in therapy it may feel intimidating. Feeling somewhat nervous prior to the first session is normal. Expect a non-judgmental, supportive environment. We want to make it feel as safe as possible to show up and share your story. Braving those first session jitters pays off – research shows that couples who invest in their relationship through Emotionally Focused Therapy report an improvement in overall relationship satisfaction 90% of the time.
Expect a non-judgmental, supportive environment.
Once you contact us, we will talk on the phone for 10-15 minutes to ensure it’s a good fit. Often, your therapist will meet with you and your partner together for the first session, then with each of you individually for session two and three, and the remainder of sessions together. We will create therapeutic goals collaboratively to help track and measure progress. Our objective is to equip you with the skills you need to thrive as a couple so that our job becomes obsolete.
